Internal Auditor

SUMMARY: The Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting assigned internal audits to ensure that procedures are in compliance with established and approved standards set by various internal policies, external governance (federal/state laws) and gaming regulatory agencies. These audits are responsible for ensuring the safeguarding of company assets and to determine whether or not specific operations are functioning as they are intended to and compliant with regulatory approved internal controls.
Consults with Internal Audit Manager or above to plan parameters, objectives, goals, and scope of upcoming audits. Reviews relevant gaming regulations, internal controls systems and Tropicana Entertainment's Policies and Procedures that govern the function to be audited. .
Conducts audits as directed by the Internal Audit Manager or above by observations, interviewing personnel and performing substantive and compliance tests. Documents all work performed.
Submits audit work papers and findings to Manager for review.
Travels to properties to perform auditing activities, as directed.
Performs related tasks as assigned by the Internal Audit Manager or above.
Must be available for scheduled work.
Must exhibit the Thoughtful Service model at all times.

All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
Bachelors' Degree in Accounting required.
One or more years of relevant audit experience in the gaming industry preferred.
Must possess and be able to maintain the applicable regional Gaming card(s) and/or License(s), if any.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English. Must be able to read and write simple lists, interoffice memorandums, and business correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able understand and analytically evaluate financial and gaming data
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
