Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Supervises Dining Room and Beverage outlets. Prepares work schedules, monitors and trains staff, evaluates performance, handles paperwork ensuring standard operation (customer relations and food/beverage service) is at optimum levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
List qualifications for the position, i.e.: High School graduate, number of years experience required, communication skills, customer service skills, etc.
Must have prior hotel/casino related knowledge and supervisory experience
Excellent leadership and customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must possess the ability to handle multiple outlets, assess and prioritize needs
Ability to use a general computer programs such as Word, Excel and Power Point
Knowledge and ability to operate P.O.S. Aloha and Easy Bar Liquor Gun System
Ability to operate telephone, copy machine, and electronic equipment
Well-groomed professional appearance
Leadership and Professionalism:
Delegates work effectively
Analizes problems and selects the most appropriate solution
Resolves guest and/or employee complaints by creating the best possible outcome
Enthusiastically leads the training effort and works with employees instructing them to follow through on tasks in the dining room, i.e. consistent table settings, table tents placed on each table, silverware cleaned, proper condiments on each table, floors kept clean at all times, table bases cleaned, and booth seats wiped clean after each use.
Promotes Teamwork Among Staff:
Works with hosts for seating availability and to ensure guests are accommodated in a timely manner
Walks through dining room periodically checking with guests that are seated at tables inquiring about their meal and pulling appropriate dishes as needed
Involves food servers in the same (check back) process to ensure consistency and guest satisfaction
Encourages Bus Persons to train as Food Servers during slow periods to develop job skills and promote advancement opportunities
Motivates Staff:
Works directly with employees and utilizes positive reinforcement techniques and suggestions pertaining to job accountabilities
Coaches and encourages employees to succeed and be the best they can be
Demonstrates commitment of service to guests and/or fellow employees by checking tables through out the dining room at least 6 times an hour, or communicating with gaming guests on the casino floor, or talking with guests in the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction, and checking kitchen food items in relationship to sanitation regulations
Recognizes achievement and implements creative responses to reward employees when performance meets or exceeds expectations
Communicates Effectively:
Provides positive communication and behavior
Fosters open lines of communication among self, staff and peers
Contacts appropriate departments with managerial questions and concerns, i.e. Engineering work orders, HR PAN forms, checking in/out with PBX, notifying all departments about operational hours for various food outlets, and conducting pre-shift meetings with employees
Conducts interactive meeting with employee when conducting performance evaluation
Schedules counseling meetings when necessary and uses appropriate discipline to reverse negative behavior when job performance regresses
Resolves staff conflicts effectively
Develops and outlines department policies and procedures and standards of performance
Administrative Functions:
Completes assignments and projects in a timely manner
Prepares weekly schedules, payroll reports, budget forecasting, daily shift reports, inventory, purchase requests and work orders accurately
Keeps accurate attendance records
Conducts interviews in accordance with ADA and EEOC guidelines
Completes performance evaluations per company policy
Documents employee discussions and progressive discipline in employee files
Maintains all safety standards through daily inspections
Follows company policies and procedures
Upholds the Sexual Harassment policy
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
List all physical and environmental requirements, i.e.: lifting, carrying, walking, standing, etc.
Ability to work inside and outside of the building
Ability to stand and walk throughout the outlets up to 65% of the eight hour shift
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
Ability to work within a noisy environment
Ability to work in high or low temperatures, and wet conditions
Ability to work with fumes and food odors
Ability to work in a smokey environment



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
