stewards Supervisor

General Summary
Supervise Steward team members and maintain standards and methods of operation. Follow-up on all assignments concerning banquet functions. Check to make sure all kitchen outlets are well maintained and clean to standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and direct the assignment and work performance of team members.
Maintain standards, methods of operation and department reports and records.
Assists with the training, developing, scheduling and directing of the staff on the assigned shift.
Makes recommendations pertaining to performance improvement and measuring the performance of the staff on the assigned shift.
Check stations before, during and after shifts for proper set-up and cleanliness.
Coordinates with the Executive Steward and Assistant Executive Steward to ensure all assigned areas are kept clean and within health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
Acts as the first level of management in escalated situations during the assigned shift.
Set up and tear down banquet functions and catering events.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
Assign and instruct subordinates in details of work.
Observe performance and encourage improvement.
Monitor level of workload and make staffing adjustments accordingly.
Maintains positive working relationship with Health Department.
Ensures Executive Steward and Assistant Executive Stewards are aware of any staffing level concerns based on business needs.
Implements and ensures consistent execution of preventative maintenance programs.
Regularly communicates with back of house management to ensure operations run smoothly.
Ensures staff has all necessary tools to effectively perform their job duties.
Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job functions.
Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous conditions to management, security or safety personnel.
Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest/employee safety in fire/emergency situations.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Provide outstanding guest service to all internal and external guests

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
